Coach Brock Pashen is entering his seventh year leading the Leola-Frederick Area Titans boys program.
The year’s squad has 22 boys on the roster. “That’s the highest we’ve had since I’ve been here,” Coach Pashen said.
This past summer saw the varsity attend a camp in Langford, and the JV hosted a triangular to get in four games.
A strength for the team this season is expecting to win the rebounding battle. Shooting and inexperience are two things to pay attention to.
“We do have some good athletes that we would like to pressure the ball more and make the offense have to execute their plan,” Pashen said. “We have more of an emphasis on transition layups and kicking the ball up the court.
“This is a competitive group of boys that can compete with anybody. It will be a matter of making our layups, being able to hit a couple threes per night, and working hard on defense.”
The December schedule will see the boys in Frederick on the 11th and 14th and in Leola on the 16th before wrapping up play before Christmas break at Waubay on the 20th.
